Etoile of the Ballet of the Paris Opera

A captivating Etoile of the Ballet of the Paris Opera, Amandine Albisson is distinguished by her intense interpretations that combine technical precision with emotional depth.

Born in Marseille in 1989, she entered the Ecole de Danse of the Paris Opera in 1999 before joining the Corps de Ballet in 2006. She rose steadily through the ranks: Coryphée in 2009, Sujet in 2010, Première Danseuse in 2013. On March 5, 2014, following her moving portrayal of Tatiana in John Cranko’s Onegin, she was named Danseuse Etoile.

Since then, she has graced stages worldwide — from Madrid to Tokyo, via Abu Dhabi — performing the most iconic roles of classical and contemporary ballet: Giselle, Odette-Odile, Juliette, Esmeralda, Carmen, Nikiya, Marguerite (La Dame aux Camélias), as well as the Soloist in Maurice Béjart’s Boléro, in a performance acclaimed for its hypnotic power.

A versatile artist, she has collaborated with some of the greatest choreographers — from Nureyev to Béjart, from Mats Ek to Benjamin Millepied — and has participated in numerous creations, including Pierre Lacotte’s Le Rouge et le Noir and Millepied’s La nuit s’achève.

A Chevalier of the National Order of Merit, she was awarded the Cercle Carpeaux Prize in 2009, the AROP Dance Prize in 2013, and the prestigious Benois de la Danse Prize in 2021.
