Tahiarii Pariente

Tahiarii is a researcher, artist, lecturer, and cultural repository with an intellect honed in European universities and a lightness and humor sprouted from the soil of Polynesia. Raised between France and Tahiti, Tahiarii has studied commerce and linguistics in formal schools, and celestial navigation at the school of the ancients. A licensed boat captain, he has worked in information technology, conservation, and luxury tourism. Tahiarii has been involved in the restoration of ancient artifacts and the revival of traditional arts since the 2000s and has been invited to London, Paris, Auckland, and Honolulu to speak about the deep history of Polynesia and has been interviewed for documentaries produced in several countries. His cultural tours represent the culmination of his life’s work and learning, and he approaches them with an earnest desire to educate but also to show his guests how to have a good time in the islands, whether that means trekking through the jungle or drinking rum out of coconuts.
