Anna Pirozzi

Soprano Anna Pirozzi is currently among the leading artists on the opera scene. Shortly after her debut in 2012 at the Teatro Regio di Torino in the role of Amelia in Un ballo in maschera, she went on to perform on the world's biggest stages, such as the Royal Opera House, Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala Milan, Opera de Paris, Wiener Staatsoper, Arena di Verona, Teatro Real Madrid, San Francisco Opera, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich. In the summer of 2021, she celebrated her 100th performance in the role of Abigaille at the Arena di Verona to great critical and public acclaim.

Her many career successes include Maddalena di Coigny in Andrea Chénier at the San Francisco Opera, the title role in Turandot, which she sang for the first time in Israel under the baton of Zubin Mehta; Lucrezia Contarini in I due Foscari at La Scala; Aida at the Arena di Verona and at the Teatro Real Madrid; Amelia Un ballo in maschera in Parma, Turin, at the Gran Teatro del Liceo and at the Palau de les arts in Valencia, and many others.

In the course of her career, Pirozzi's name has become synonymous with two roles: Lady Macbeth from Macbeth by G. Verdi and Abigaille from Nabucco, also by G. Verdi, which she has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, Sao Paulo, Bologna, Valencia, Beijing, Tel Aviv, Leipzig, Leipzig, Stuttgart, Berlin, Las Palmas, Minorca, Lyon, Paris, Bologna, Florence, Parma, Naples at La Scala and other prestigious theatres,

Born in Naples, the soprano began her vocal studies at the Istituto Musicale della Valle d'Aosta and furthered her studies at the Conservatorio 'G. Verdi' in Turin.

She currently resides in Switzerland with her husband and two children.
