Benoit Dunoyer de Segonzac

Born in Strasbourg in 1962. After classical studies in cello and clarinet, he discovered jazz and rock in his teens and began playing bass and double bass at the age of 20, learning improvised music on his own.

Since then, he has worked on stage and in the studio with, among others:

Jean-Michel Pilc, Kenny Wheeler, Vincent Courtois, Edouard Ferlet, Yvan Cassar, Steve Nieve, Bruno Fontaine, Jean-Philippe Goude.

as well as singers Tom Novembre, Mireille Mathieu, Ramon Pipin, Roberto Alagna, Ute Lemper, Bobby Mc Ferrin, Juliette Gréco and Natalie Dessay.

The orchestras of Radio France and the Paris Opera

The trio of Jacques Loussier, creator of the Play Bach trio, with whom he toured for 15 years on the most prestigious classical and jazz stages around the world and with whom he recorded a dozen albums.

He joined Belle du Berry and David Lewis's group Paris Combo in 2016.

In the theatre, he has appeared in many musicals, including Cabaret, Le Roi Lion, Mamma Mia, Rendez-vous, Avenue Q, Sister Act, Les fiancés de Loches, Le bal des vampires, Cats, Chance, Les Producteurs, La crème de Normandie, Virginie et Paul.

In the studio, he has recorded numerous film and theatre scores, as well as an extensive discography covering a wide range of styles, from classical to jazz, rock and chanson.
