Caitlin Carenen

Caitlin Carenen is a Distinguished Professor and Chair of the History Department at Eastern Connecticut State University.  She received her B.A. in History and her M.A. in Modern European History both from the University of Georgia.  She received her Ph.D. in Modern American History with a focus on U.S. foreign policy from Emory University.  

Dr. Carenen is the author of two books and multiple other publications on US foreign policy.  She is the recipient of several fellowships and research grants.  Her current research interests include the history of U.S.-Icelandic relations and the significance of North Atlantic security during the Second World War and the early years of NATO.  She is currently working on her third book about the US occupation of Iceland in the Second World War.
