Jean-Louis Joret

A specialist in maritime cruises, Jean-Louis Joret began his career with Paquet Cruises, exploring seas and coastlines aboard the ships of this renowned company. In charge of production and the programming of ships and destinations, he brought new momentum and insight to the management of itineraries, ports of call, and excursions.
He distinguished himself through the study of unusual destinations, including Antarctica, Latin America, and the Far East. He was a pioneer of cruises in Southeast Asia, China, and Indochina.
As a consultant, J.L. Joret has focused on developing river cruises in Europe, Russia, and China, which he views as a natural extension of maritime cruising into the interior of continents. He has collaborated with several cruise companies, including CMA-CGM, France Croisières, N.D.S., and Rivages du Monde.
He also works as a cruise director and lecturer, speaking on a wide range of themes and cultures. In addition, he has developed “musical” river cruises.
As a consultant for Ponant, J.L. Joret contributed to the launch of Le Diamant for the Compagnie des Îles du Ponant, designing innovative itineraries and helping to create cruises to Antarctica and Asia, exploration cruises with a strong cultural dimension.
Passionate about Earth sciences, geography, and history, his knowledge and long experience lead him to share with passengers his lectures and his enthusiasm for cruising.
He is a member of the Société de Géographie de Paris.
