Christian Garcia has served His Serene Highness Prince Rainier III and the Grimaldi Family for more than 39 years.

Born in Bourges, France, on 23 May 1963, he is French by birth but considers himself Monegasque at heart, with a deep attachment to the Principality of Monaco and the Princely Family.

A graduate of the Monaco Hotel School, he began his career in some of the Principality’s most prestigious establishments, including the Monte-Carlo Beach and the Hôtel Hermitage. After spending five years at the Hôtel de Paris, he was invited to join the Prince’s Palace in 1987 for what was initially intended to be a seven-month replacement assignment—a position he has held ever since.

In 2004, Christian Garcia was appointed Executive Chef to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.

In 2007, he was elected President of the prestigious Club des Chefs des Chefs, founded by Gilles Bragard in 1977 at Paul Bocuse’s restaurant in Collonges-au-Mont-d’Or. The association brings together the personal chefs of the world’s highest-ranking institutions, including those of the Élysée Palace in Paris, Buckingham Palace in London, and the White House in Washington, D.C.

Christian Garcia is a Knight of the Order of Grimaldi, a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters, and an Officer of the French Order of Agricultural Merit. He is also a member of the Académie Culinaire de France, the Disciples d'Escoffier, and the Grand Cordon d'Or de la Cuisine Française.

Deeply committed to charitable causes, he takes part in numerous fundraising and humanitarian events around the world throughout the year, with the support of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.
