Cycling the Youghal to Midleton Greenway by electric bike is a journey through some of Ireland's most picturesque and culturally rich landscapes, combining history, nature and magnificent panoramas.
Starting in Youghal, a historic port town with medieval walls and breathtaking views over the Atlantic, the Greenway begins along the old railway line on the outskirts of the town. It once linked the city to Cork. As you pedal, the electric pulse of the e-bike allows you to concentrate more on the surrounding beauty than the effort, gliding gently through the countryside.
You will pass through lush forests, where Irish trees such as oak, ash and beech form a canopy over your head. In spring and summer, the air is infused with the scent of wildflowers - bluebells, primroses and cow parsley - which line the path in brilliant clusters. Colorful hedges attract bees and butterflies. The gentle hum of the electric bike is often accompanied by the song of birds such as robins, finches and thrushes, adding a natural soundtrack to the excursion.
Stop along the way for refreshments before continuing on to Midleton.
As you approach Midleton, the greenway enters the heart of East Cork's farmland, famous for its whisky production. You may be able to smell the barley from local distilleries carried on the breeze as you approach the town, where the Jameson distillery is a reminder of the region's storied past.
The electric bike lets you savor every detail, from the rugged beauty of the Irish landscape to the rich cultural history etched on its paths. Whether you're an avid cyclist or just looking to relax, the Youghal to Midleton Greenway offers an unforgettable exploration of nature and history.

Ballycotton Lighthouse Island is a wild, natural and unspoilt experience. Due to the rustic nature of the island, a visit requires a degree of agility and a love of adventure.
Ballycotton Lighthouse has been in existence for over 170 years and, until 30 years ago, was manned by lighthouse keepers. Although now automated, its light continues to flash every night to warn of danger and protect lives at sea, as it has done since 1851. For over twenty years, starting in the mid-1820s, there were several campaigns to secure the construction of a lighthouse in the locality, which would have enabled ships heading for Cork and Youghal to pass safely. Prior to its construction, the nearest lighthouses were at Hook Head, 80 km to the east, and Old Head of Kinsale, 45 km to the west.
After much debate, the original site chosen in 1846 was on the Isle of Capel, at the other end of Ballycotton Bay. The sinking of the famous paddle-steamer Sirius just west of Ballycotton Island in 1847, which claimed many lives, led to further reflection and the decision to halt construction on Capel and build two lighthouses, one on Ballycotton Island and the other on Mine Head, County Waterford. Waterford.
· This tour includes about an hour's walk over uneven terrain. We recommend this tour for people in very good physical condition. Non-slip walking shoes are highly recommended, as is warm, waterproof clothing.

Immerse yourself in the heart of Wales for a unique experience in the smallest city in the United Kingdom, St Davids, where history, spirituality and natural beauty come together in perfect harmony.
Soak up the picturesque atmosphere of St Davids, a jewel set in the heart of the Welsh coastal countryside. This charming city, the smallest in the United Kingdom, is home to a monumental treasure: a majestic cathedral that is both a peaceful haven and a guardian of centuries past.
As you enter this sacred building, you will be greeted by the warmth of the carved Welsh wood that adorns the ceiling of the nave, a fine example of ancient craftsmanship. Dancing light pours through the stained glass rose window, projecting a kaleidoscope of colours, while the Treasury reveals its precious relics, remnants of a time when faith and mystery permeated every stone.
A few steps away, the ruins of the Bishop's Palace stand as an echo of the glories of yesteryear. Imagine the chanting, the prayers and the excitement in this place whose splendour once rivalled that of the cathedral itself.
Then take time to stroll through the picturesque streets of St Davids, to feel the breath of history in the salty air of the coast, and to lose yourself in the murmur of the waves in the distance.
· This tour involves approximately 2 hours of walking. We recommend you wear good walking shoes. It is not accessible to wheelchair users.

Set off to discover Fishguard, with its rich heritage, marine landscapes and unexpected wildlife encounters.
Let the whispers of the past guide you into the pretty village of Fishguard, where the stars of the silver screen, adventurers from France and herring fishermen have all left their mark. This lively port still resonates with the echoes of a prosperous trade dating back to the 16th century. Under the reign of Elizabeth I, the generous waters provided endless shoals of herring. The inhabitants themselves, affectionately nicknamed “sgadan Abergwaun” – Fishguard herrings – were proud of this connection with the sea.
Discover history as it reveals itself in the sculptures hidden along the paths, silent witnesses of a bygone era. Walking along the port, your gaze will perhaps fall upon the furtive games of seals, the graceful leap of porpoises or the sparkle of a dolphin in the waves. Then, in the heart of the village, the Town Hall will welcome you so you can see the Last Invasion Tapestry, a masterpiece inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry. With finesse and details, it tells the story of the last invasion of mainland Britain.
· This excursion includes some walking on cobbled streets.

The Ballycotton Cliff Walk is one of Ireland's most breathtaking coastal walks. It offers 7.7 kilometers of rugged beauty along the east coast of County Cork. Starting from the charming fishing village of Ballycotton, the trail winds along high cliffs, offering uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding landscape.
As you embark on the linear path, the salty sea air invigorates your senses and the sound of waves crashing against the rocks below fills your ears. The trail is lined with vibrant wildflowers in spring and summer - delicate sea roses, gorse and heather add splashes of color to the cliffside. On a clear day, the panorama stretches across the sea to the nearby island of Ballycotton, with its solitary lighthouse a reminder of the region's maritime heritage.
As you follow the path, every turn offers a new vantage point, whether it's a secluded cove or a spectacular promontory jutting out into the sea. The cliffs are teeming with wildlife: keep an eye out for seabirds such as gannets and cormorants. If you're lucky, you might even spot a pod of dolphins or a seal bobbing in the waves.
At the halfway point, you will reach Horseshoe Bend, a sharp curve in the cliffs that offers a particularly breathtaking view. The ocean stretches endlessly before you, its hues changing from deep blue to turquoise as the sunlight dances across the water.
The final stretch of the walk brings you close to Ballytrasna beach, a quiet, unspoilt strip of sand nestled between cliffs. It's the perfect place to take a break and enjoy the tranquility.
As you approach the end of the cliff walk, the path gently descends into the fields, with the distant sound of the ocean gradually fading away. The walk ends at Ballyandreen beach, where you can relax by the water, your mind refreshed by the sea breeze and the natural beauty that has surrounded you throughout the journey.
· The tour includes 7.7 km of walking on moderately challenging routes as well as difficult trails and uneven surfaces. The terrain is relatively easy to navigate, but can be steep and narrow in places, giving a sense of adventure without being overly challenging. Passengers must be in good physical condition for this tour. Tour times may vary. We strongly recommend that you wear non-slip walking shoes and warm, waterproof clothing.
