This carefully curated program is the perfect ending to your voyage in celebration of America's 250th birthday. A series of thoughtfully designed excursions focused on the central monuments and memorials of the nation's history trace the origins and expansion of American liberty from the Revolution, through the Civil War and Civil Rights movements, to the present day.

Day 1 – Disembark | Baltimore | Washinton, D.C.
After disembarking the ship, meet your guide for a walking tour along the harbor front and through the historic heart of the city. At Historic Ships wharf, you will be able to imagine what the harbor was like in the 1770s, when Baltimore's shipbuilders produced schooners used by privateers to harass British supply ships, earning for the city a reputation among British sea captains as a "nest of pirates." As you pass through the Jonestown neighborhood, you will encounter several important landmarks, including the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House and the Battle Monument, commemorating the War of 1812.
Enjoy a crab cake lunch at a waterfront restaurant before transferring to the nation's capital to check into the Fairmont Washington, D.C., your home for the next two nights. The balance of the day is at leisure. Dinner is independent.

Day 2 – Washington, D.C.
After breakfast at the hotel, join a "dual narrative" tour of the National Mall, during which two guides—one liberal and one conservative—share their differing perspectives on the import of the stories behind key monuments and memorials and exchanging views on American identity, justice, and civic life. Lunch at a local restaurant is followed by an afternoon focused on how a variety of diverse communities have shaped U.S. history—Asian American immigration in the context of U.S. foreign policy; Native American sovereignty and diplomacy; and African American struggles for liberty in pursuit of the ideals of the Constitution. The tour will include a guided visit to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Your evening is at leisure and dinner is independent.

Day 3 – Washington, D.C. | Depart
Following breakfast at the hotel, transfer to your Washington, D.C. airport for flights homeward.

This three-day program is designed to provide a glimpse into the history and culture of Nova Scotia, the easternmost of the Canadian Maritimes. You will visit the fertile agricultural region of Annapolis Valley to learn about Acadian culture and to sample some local food and wine, and you will spend a morning on the picturesque peninsula that includes iconic Peggy's Cove before visiting historic landmarks in Halifax—an ideal prelude to tour voyage along North America's Atlantic coast.

Day 1 — Halifax
Arrive at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the city center. A local representative will be present at our hospitality desk in the afternoon to welcome you and to answer any questions you may have. Relax and unwind, or explore some of the sites that are within walking distance of the hotel. This evening, join fellow travelers for a welcome cocktail reception. Dinner is independent.

Day 2 — Halifax | Annapolis Valley
Following breakfast this morning, join your guide for a drive into the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia’s fertile heartland of orchards and vineyards. Begin your exploration of the valley with a visit to Grand-Pré National Historic Site. Dedicated to preserving the memory of Le Grand Dérangement, when the British forcibly removed Acadians from eastern Canada during the French and Indian War, this UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrates the Acadian legacy here in Canada and the spread of Acadian culture throughout the diaspora. Continue your tour with stops at "the Look-Off," a small roadside stop with a panoramic view of the fertile farmlands of the Annapolis Valley, and at Hall's Harbor, where at low tide, fishing boats rest on the ocean floor—a dramatic reminder that the Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world. Exploration of the Valley concludes with lunch of local specialties at the Bent Ridge Winery, followed by a tour and tasting.

On returning to Halifax, the balance of the day is at leisure, and dinner is independent.

Day 3 — Halifax | Peggy's Cove | Embark
After breakfast and check out, begin the day with a picturesque drive on the scenic Lighthouse Route that follows the eastern shore of St. Margaret's Bay past sheltered coves and beaches and through small coastal communities to reach the iconic Nova Scotian destination of Peggy's Cove. Perched on ancient granite rocks above the Atlantic Ocean, this historic fishing village is home to Peggy’s Point Lighthouse, a beacon to mariners since 1915 and one of the most photographed and painted landmarks in Canada. The village is a working fishing community that maintains Nova Scotia's maritime way of life while welcoming visitors to admire its views of the rugged coastline and to browse its shops and galleries.
 
On returning to Halifax, your guide will narrate a tour of the city that introduces some notable episodes in its long history, including the story of the great Halifax Explosion—when a ship loaded with munitions bound for World War I detonated in Halifax Harbor, resulting in the largest man-made explosion in history before the atomic bomb—and the tale of the city's efforts to rescue victims of the Titanic as it sank about 430 miles offshore.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant on Halifax's waterfront, followed by a visit to Pier 21, Canada's National Museum of Immigration, located at the historic landing site where nearly one million newcomers arrived between 1928 and 1971. The exhibits here tell the story of Canada's equivalent of Ellis Island. After the museum, enjoy time at leisure to explore the waterfront on your own before embarking on your ship later in the afternoon.

Day 1 – Gander | Fogo Island
Upon arrival at Gander International Airport, you will be met for your transfer to Fogo Island. A member of the Inn’s Community Host team will accompany you on the scenic drive to Farewell, followed by the ferry crossing to Fogo Island.

Arrive at Fogo Island Inn for check-in and a brief room orientation. This architectural icon rests at the edge of the North Atlantic, offering sweeping views of the ocean and surrounding landscape.

Enjoy dinner in the Inn’s acclaimed Dining Room, where floor-to-ceiling windows frame dramatic seascapes. The menu changes daily, celebrating fresh local ingredients and Newfoundland’s culinary traditions. After dinner, you may wish to unwind with a film in the cozy cinema or relax in the rooftop sauna and hot tubs, taking in the dazzling night sky.

Day 2 – Fogo Island, Newfoundland
Begin your day with coffee or tea delivered to your door followed by a leisurely breakfast in the Dining Room.

This morning, embark on a guided Island Orientation with a Community Host. Gain insight into Fogo Island’s history, fishing traditions, and cultural landscape as you explore local villages and scenic viewpoints before returning to the Inn for lunch at leisure.

In the afternoon, join an optional foraging hike with an Outdoor Adventure Guide. Discover edible and medicinal plants found across the island and learn how they’re used in teas, cocktails, and local cuisine. Alternatively, you may choose from a range of activities curated by the Inn’s Guest Experience Team, such as cycling, artisan workshops, or guided hikes.

This evening, savor a traditional seafood feast in the Inn’s Shed. Served family-style, this immersive dinner celebrates Newfoundland’s ingredients and culinary storytelling. Afterward, enjoy a quiet film screening or a soak under the stars in the rooftop hot tubs.

Day 3 – Fogo Island, Newfoundland
After breakfast, set out on a Bushcraft and Traditional Boil-Up experience, one of the Inn’s signature adventures. Follow Outdoor Adventure Guides to a secluded bushcraft camp, where you’ll learn foraging techniques, woodcraft skills, and traditional outdoor cooking methods. Enjoy tea brewed from foraged plants and a rustic boil-up lunch, a proud Newfoundland culinary tradition.

The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy activities that suit your interests. You might take a guided hike, join a jam-making session, cycle through quiet coastal roads, or simply relax at the Inn and enjoy the stunning surroundings.

This evening, return to the Dining Room for a seasonal tasting menu highlighting Newfoundland’s finest ingredients. Conclude your final night with optional stargazing on the rocks or a relaxing sauna session.

Day 4 – Fogo Island | Gander | Halifax, Nova Scotia
After breakfast, depart Fogo Island Inn for your transfer to Gander International Airport, including the ferry crossing to the Newfoundland mainland.

Fly from Gander to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where you will be met and transferred to the Sutton Place Hotel, ideally located in the heart of downtown Halifax.
The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax or explore the vibrant waterfront, shops, and cafés at your own pace. Dinner is independent.

Day 5 – Halifax, Nova Scotia | Embarkation
The day is free to explore downtown Halifax before embarking the ship later in the afternoon.
