Valentine Colasante
Valentine Colasante spent her childhood between Italy and France in an artistic environment. She was very young when in 1998 she joined the Opéra National de Paris’ dance school where she trained for eight years. From then on she worked hard, pushing herself to the limits to become a complete artist. It all paid off when at the age of just 17 she was hired by the Opéra National de Paris’ prestigious ballet company in 2006. She very quickly rose up the ranks from Coryphée in 2010, Sujet in 2011 then Première danseuse in 2013.
On 5 January 2018 after her performance as Kitri in Don Quixote (Rudolf Nureyev), Valentine Colasante was promoted to Étoile.
She has since participated in numerous creative projects in artistic collaborations and on the Opéra National de Paris ballet company’s official tours, including performing in Australia (Sydney, 2007), China (Beijing, 2008), Russia (Novosibirsk, 2010), Malaysia (Singapore, 2011), USA (New York, 2017) and Spain (Madrid, 2019).

Mathieu Ganio
Mathieu Ganio is the son of Dominique Khalfouni, former Etoile of the Opéra National de Paris’ Ballet company who became a principle dancer in Roland Petit’s Ballet National de Marseille, and Denis Ganio, also a soloist at the Ballet National de Marseille.
He first appeared on stage in 1986 at the age of two, alongside his mother during the creation of Roland Petit’s Ma Pavlova. Mathieu Ganio and his younger sister Marine Ganio, a Sujet in the corps de ballet at Opéra National de Paris, then accompanied their parents on a tour of the Roland Petit Ballet company.
Mathieu Ganio began dance lessons at the age of seven in the Ballet Studio run by Colette Armand, mother of the dancer Patrick Armand.
From 1992-1999, he trained at the École Nationale Supérieure de Danse de Marseille. In 1999, he entered the ballet school at the Opéra National de Paris, performing the role of Franz in Coppélia at the school’s end-of-year performance That year he joined the Ballet de l’Opéra company’s corps de ballet and was promoted to Coryphée in 2002 and Sujet in 2003.
On 20 May 2004, aged 20, Mathieu Ganio was made an Etoile following a performance of Don Quixote, bypassing the grade of premier danseur. It was a total surprise as he was not supposed to dance this role initially.
Mathieu Ganio is an ‘Officier des Arts et Lettres’ for his contribution to dance, and winner of the Benois de la Danse prize in 2005.
On the Ballet de l’Opéra’s official tours, he has performed in Switzerland (Geneva, 2009), Japan (Tokyo 2010, 2013 and 2020 / Nagoya, 2013), Australia (Sydney, 2012), USA (Chicago / Washington / New York, 2012), Malaysia (Singapore, 2012) and United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi, 2019).

From the pier, board your coach for a 30-minute picturesque drive through olive groves before reaching the Archaeological Site.
Once arriving, you will take the Sacred Way that was followed by ancient pilgrims and visitors to the site. The path begins at the southeast corner of the site and winds its way up the hillside, past ancient treasuries and monuments, to the temple of Apollo.
It is an imposing temple of the Doric order whose existence was woven through the turbulent history of the site and endured numerous incarnations. The remains that you can see date back to the 4th century B.C. The Temple of Apollo was first built around the 7th century B.C. by the two legendary architects Trophonios and Agamedes. The exterior was decorated with shields captured from the Persians at Plataea. This temple was also of the Doric order and had 6 columns at the front, and 15 columns at the flanks. Today, you can see one complete column of the facade and portions of five more columns. Also visible are the foundations of the outer colonnade and the interior sekos.
You will continue your walk and pass the spare ruins of the Senate of Delphi, followed be a pile of rocks, marking the site of the early Delphi Oracle which according to legend was guarded by the snake Python. For those who wish, the Theatre can be visited.
A few steps from the sanctuary of Apollo, the Delphi museum has exhibited for over a century, the objects found at the archaeological site. He is one of the four largest museums in Greece, with Athens and Olympia. Vases, bronzes, sculptures found in temples, offerings made to Apollo by the pilgrims, objects of gold and ivory found under the slabs of the Sacred Way can be admired in this museum.
At the end of your visit, you will join your coach and enjoy magnificent views over the Bay of Itea before your return on Itea.

From the pier, embark your coach for the one-hour drive to the Saint Lucas Monastery. On the way, you will pass by Delphi and Arachova villages.
The historic walled monastery is one of the most important monuments of Middle Byzantine architecture and art and is listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites in Greece. It was founded in the early 10th century by the hermit Saint Lucas, whose relics are kept in the monastery. The main shrine is the tomb of Saint Lucas, originally situated in the vault, but later placed at the juncture of the two churches, the church of Theotokos and the Catholic Church which is the oldest in the complex.
Continue your journey with the visit of Arachova village. Arachova is a mountain small village and its quaint houses are built up on the north slopes of Mount Parnassos, with 3,300 inhabitants, at 800 – 1,100m altitude. In 2000 B.C. Homer mentioned in the Iliad two famous generals who took part in the Trojan War Epistrophos and Schedias from the old towns of Anemoria and Kiparissos. These towns were situated around where Arachova stands today. Later, in about 334 B.C. Philip the Second King of Macedonia destroyed both towns and their populations dispersed over the hills until a new town, Arachova, was built. Today the 'jewel' of Parnassos Arachova remains vital because it keeps its traditions alive and the residents remain simple and hospitable. From the first moment, you will feel a different wind blowing up here, and understand why the locals work so hard to upkeep the areas natural beauty. This town is famous for its carpets and blankets woven by hand and for its wines and cheeses.
After a short walking tour and time to browse through the narrow streets with the numerous souvenir and local product shops, you will return to the ship.

From the pier, embark your coach for the 25-minute drive to Perast, town with almost the same number of churches as the number of inhabitants.
Enjoy the scenery and architecture of the old historical town of Perast which, between the 13th and 18th centuries, belonged to Venice. The most beautiful buildings were constructed under the period of the Republic of Venice in the 17th and 18th centuries when Perast was at its peak. The Parish Church in Perast was built in 1740 by the Venetian architect, Giuseppe Beati but only the church tower and the church vault remain. You will visit the St. Nicholas Church, patron saint of the sailors.
There are two small islands in the close vicinity of Perast: St. George Island and Our Lady of the Rock Island.
You will reach the man-made islet of Our Lady of the Rocks after a 15-minute boat ride. The stone plateau in the middle of the sea with a church on it is the result of the enduring efforts of generations of sailors. The island was built artificially by scuttling old ships and depositing stones around a small crag. The construction of a sanctuary began in the first century of the Venetian rule. The sanctuary was dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin because this cult was greatly venerated by the Venetians. On the altar is the famous icon of Our Lady of the Rock, a 15th century work by Lovro Marinov Dobricevic. It is the most valuable work of art in the church because its history is so closely related to that of the island, the only artificially built island in the Adriatic. The church itself is decorated with more than 2,500 votive tablets made of silver, mostly donated by seamen.
Finally, you will get back to Kotor, following your guide on a walking tour of the city.

The Miloslavic family is now composed of six persons. Pero and Marija, the parents, and their 4 daughters Nevia, Mara, Pere and Nika. Pero's father was among the first in the civil parish to have the OPG label, which stands for "Obiteljsko poljoprivredno gospodarstvo" (literally translates to a family farm, and more specifically an agricultural business made up of members of the same family), and Pero inherited it. This tradition has continued, and our hosts have passed it on to their 4 daughters. Today, you will be part of the family.
Away from the habitual kitchens and regular restaurants, discover the local cuisine full of homemade olive oil, wines, seasonal vegetables, homemade prosciutto and pancetta.
With the help of the Miloslavic family, you will prepare savoury meals, full of heritage and tastes of the Dubrovnik region. In this unique cooking class, you will learn how to appreciate each of the ingredients to their fullest, how to treat them, and how to savour their essence. From the pier, meet your guide and start your stroll through the streets of this medieval town.
Along the way you will visit, among other places, the Franciscan Monastery whose cloister ranks among the most inspiring sites of the city. The Monastery houses also the oldest still working pharmacy in Europe and the third oldest pharmacy in the world founded in 1317. It is still active and still offers creams manufactured according to ancestral recipes.
After visiting the monastery, you will go to the Assumption Cathedral built in the 18th century on the ruins of a church dating from the 12th century destroyed by an earthquake in 1667. This one might surprise you by its simplicity and the clarity of its interior, but its treasure is among the richest in Europe, with a unique collection of relics in gold and silver.
You will continue with the Dominican Monastery, soberer than the previous one, and its museum with a fine collection of Renaissance paintings, including the triptych of N. Bozidarevic representing Dubrovnik before the earthquake or the table of Titian representing Sainte Madeleine and Saint Blaise.
Other fine buildings will be viewed from the outside, like the Sponza Palace notable for its columned courtyard with elaborate stone carvings, Church of Saint Blaise, Onofriou's Fountain, etc.
Then, enjoy some time on your own in the Old Town, before proceeding to the Dubrovnik cable car. A short ride will take you up to the top of Srd hill from where you can admire Dubrovnik Old town, Elaphite Islands and Lokrum.

From the pier, board your coach for a 1-hour scenic drive along the Adriatic Road toward the town of Ston.
Ston was built according to the plans approved by the Dubrovnik government in 1335 and amended in 1370 and is considered one of the best planned and best structured cities in Europe. The walls of Ston were a massive architecture and construction feat. Originally 7,000 metre long (22,965 ft.), they consist of several parts; the Ston city walls, the Mali Ston city walls and the Big wall with its three forts. Its forts and towers are strengthened by 10 round and 31 square flanking towers, as well as 6 semicircular bastions. It took almost four centuries to finish these complex defence walls, as the builders had to adapt to the rough terrain and advancements in warfare technology. The walls were last used for defence in the 19th century, and today they are a priceless monument of immense architectural and cultural value.
Once arriving at Ston’s walls, you will start your hiking passing distance of almost 900 meters over demanding terrain with more than 250 steps before joining your coach for a ride to Mali Ston, the 'oysters capital' of Croatia.

From the pier, follow your guide and start your walking tour of the historical centre of Rovinj. The historical centre is almost entirely built on a rocky island and connected to the mainland since the 13th century. During your tour, you will discover the Venetian influence and its rich cultural legacy, omnipresent in the architecture of the tall houses with warm red tiled roofs and the narrow streets intersected by covered passageways and archways, decorated with ancient frescoes.
The highlight of your visit will most certainly be the Church of Saint Euphemia, a prestigious building dating from the 8th century. Its 63-metre high bell tower rises out of the city centre, and is the most remarked symbol in the Istria region.
Built on the ancient ruins of a Roman church, it was altered in the 17th century in the Baroque style, and houses the relics of Saint Euphemia. They were brought from Constantinople in the 9th century for their safekeeping in a marble sarcophagus. There is also a mural depicting the life and the martyrdom of the saint. Every year on 16 September, the faithful gather around her tomb.
The church contains several treasures and works of art like Gothic statues from the 15th century and paintings from the 16th and the 17th centuries (The Last Supper and Christ in the Gethsemane).
At the end of your visit, you will enjoy a local snack before returning to your ship.

Once arriving, you will take the Sacred Way that was followed by ancient pilgrims and visitors to the site. The path begins at the southeast corner of the site and winds its way up the hillside, past ancient treasuries and monuments, to the temple of Apollo.

Upon arrival in Mali Ston, you will board a local boat which will take you to oyster and mussel beds. Your host will welcome you on board and introduce you with oyster & mussel farming in this area. You will have the opportunity to learn about the oyster & mussel production as well as to taste freshly prepared oysters & mussels including mussel buzara (mussels cooked with wine, garlic and olive oil).
Finally, re-board your coach for a 1-hour return ride back to Dubrovnik along the old historical road passing through the old villages of Dubrovacko Primorje.

From the pier, board your coach and start your 45-minute scenic drive to Porec.
Once arriving, you will start your walking tour of the old town.
You will begin with the Episcopal Complex of the Euphrasian Basilica in the historic centre of Porec. The basilica, atrium, baptistery and Episcopal palace are outstanding examples of religious architecture, while the basilica itself combines classical and Byzantine elements.
This complex was enrolled in the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1997.
After the visit to the Episcopal Complex, you will have some free time in Porec before rejoining your coach for the drive back to Rovinj.
