The 1st Opera Festival at Sea was a great success so this second one should follow in its footsteps with a top-flight programme, rolled out like a “complete” opera each evening with the most beautiful pieces from La Traviata to Madama Butterfly, Werther and Carmen; plus a recital evening and, her centenary requires it, a tribute to Maria Callas. Bringing these legendary characters to life and the dramatic emotional scenes that befall them, we will hear a soprano who is already a big name, Alexandra Marcellier, Cecilia Bartoli’s young protégée, whose voice and intense stage presence are impressive: she will be Traviata, Butterfly and also Micaela. We will also be hearing one of the best tenors of his generation, Samy Camps, whose reputation lives up to his talent both for his timbre and authority:he will be Alfredo, Werther, Pinkerton and Don José. The new French mezzo-soprano star, Héloïse Mas, winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels brings her fiery vocals to two characters whose depth of expressivity suits her to perfection: she will be Charlotte from Werther, and Carmen, a role for which she is famous as one of the great interpreters. Finally, Polish baritone, Tomasz Kuliega, from the Paris Opera Academy and from the Aix- en -Provence festival Academy, will be a new discovery for many: he will introduce his warm bronze voice and sense of theatre to you through three characters as he will be Germont from La Traviata, Sharpless from Madama Butterfly, and Escamillo from Carmen. Here to accompany, support and develop these artists we are very lucky to have Antoine Palloc onboard, the vocal coach much sought-after by all opera singers.

From the pier, board your wheel train and drive up to the oldest part of Bonifacio. En-route, you will see the Bosco quarter with the St. Francis convent and the cemetery dedicated to the mariners with mausoleums displaying a jumble of architectural styles. On a clear day you might also enjoy a panoramic view on Corsica's closest neighbour: the Italian island of Sardinia. Then pass the church St Dominique, a rare example of Corsican gothic architecture, built in 1270, most probably by the Templars. Following the orientation by mini-tram, continue your visit of Bonifacio on foot through tiny, narrow streets bordered with high houses. Pass the church of St. Marie Majeure, with its mixture of Romanesque and Baroque styles dated from 14th century. The excursion will take you through the heart of the historical part of town to the Two Emperors street where Napoleon Bonaparte and Charles V spent a few days, the Place d'Armes, the Jardin des Vestiges and then to the old market where there is a viewpoint over the 230 ft. cliffs on top of which Bonifacio has been built! Before heading back to the port, you will enjoy a tasty moment in a unique place called "La Galerie des Ducs" with a fantastic view on the cliffs of Bonifacio. Local cold cuts and cheese paired with a glass of wine will allow you to get a taste of what Corsica has to offer. Either you will return to the ship with your guide or either you will continue to explore the town on your own.
Gesamtpreis inkl. Steuern- und Gebühren : 80 €
From the pier, board your local boat for a cruise along the coast of Bonifacio to enjoy a panoramic view of the citadel and upper town. The buildings atop the sheer limestone cliffs look as though they are about to topple into the sea.
You will start your exploration with the marine caves which are home to numerous birds including falcons, shearwaters and swifts. Exiting the harbour via the inlet, you will discover the ramparts which encircle the old city.
After passing the limestone cliffs, you will reach the Sdragonatu marine cave (dragon’s cave). Its roof is pierced by a fissure in the shape of a map of Corsica.
Then, continue to the Lavezzi Islands, a marine wildlife and plants sanctuary which make up one of Corsica’s two marine reserves. These uninhabited barren islands of granite rock lie seven miles south-east of Bonifacio, seemingly adrift on a turquoise-emerald sea, whose colour varies with the sky.
The Lavezzi islands was declared a nature reserve in 1982. As from 2023, a specific protection plan have been deployed by the Corsican authorites in order to protect this fragile ecosystem. Ponant's commitment to preserve and protect natural sites is fully in line with this measure and we therefore propose an outdoor discovery of these islands, without any landing. Your guide is specially trained to share with you all the specificites of this rock formations and will give you numerous explanations to enable you to understand all the preservation issues.
On the way back, you will pass Cavallo Island and Pointe de Sperone, before cruising along the calanques and cliffs to the Bonifacio marina.

From the pier, board your coach and start your tour, passing through the Olympic area by the sea before arriving at Mirador Torre Glories.
Also and formerly known as Torre Agbar, since its inauguration, it has become a symbol of the city. Inspired by the rounded forms of nearby Montserrat, French architect Jean Nouvel designed one of his greatest works in Barcelona, and it now stands as one of the highest buildings in the city, reaching a height of 144 metres. It is intended to evoke a geyser rising from the ground and pointing to the sky with its glass dome. Playing into the design, it boasts a transition of colours that represent the building’s temperature. At the bottom, warm colours predominate, a symbol of the magmatic, incandescent earth. Little by little, the water cools and makes the layers colder, with blue tones that become more predominant as the building gains height. Finally, the dome has no colour, it disappears visually, a symbol of the fusion with the ethereal, the air.
In the basement floor an observation deck without windows was designed as a dynamic space with artistic installations created using data on Barcelona gathered in real-time. Visiting this space allows one to enjoy a graphical representation of the beauty of Barcelona’s big data and discover views of the city that would otherwise be unknown.
Discover Barcelona from this particular point of view before heading to the top of the tower for an entirely different and amazing 360° view over the medieval city, the Mediterranean sea, Sagrada Familia Collserola and more. The 30th floor is the heart of the Mirador Torre Glories, a privileged space wrapped in glass, steel and concrete.
Before going back to the port, enjoy a panoramic drive through Barcelona's iconic avenues such as Diagonal and Paseo de Gracia, and the Montjuic hill.
Gesamtpreis inkl. Steuern- und Gebühren : 65 €
Explore one of the world's largest Art Nouveau ensembles, in the heart of Barcelona and off the beaten tourist track.
You will meet your guide on the pier, board your coach to leave the port and head for the Eixample district.
This is where you will find the extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site (since 1997, along with the Palau de la Música Catalana): the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, also known as the Recinte Modernista.
This is a group of monumental buildings linked by underground passageways and enchanting gardens, featuring numerous sculptures and symbolic details.
It's one of Barcelona's most unusual and least-known wonders, created by architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. The complex was built in 1902 on the remnants of another former hospital and inaugurated in 1930. It was built as a "garden city" and comprises twelve pavilions, each dedicated to a different medical specialty. Decorated in Gothic style, a profusion of ceramics is used throughout the building.
Then, along with your guide, you will walk to the Sagrada Familia, the symbol of Barcelona and Antoni Gaudi's best-known work. You will discover this masterpiece of Art Nouveau, from outside, stopping to take photos.
Enjoy some free time before returning to your coach and ship.

Casa Vicens is the first masterpiece of Antoni Gaudí sowing the seeds of his later works.
You will depart by bus for a short transfer to Casa de les Punxes, and walk approximately 1 mi (1.5 km) to Casa Vicens.
Built between 1883 and 1885 as a summer house for the Vicens family, here he showcased his unparalleled talent. A UNESCO-listed masterpiece, Casa Vicens was first opened to the public in November 2017. The angular, turreted private house, completed in 1885, was created for stock and currency broker Manuel Vicens i Montaner and was Gaudí’s inaugural commission, when the architect was just 30 years of age. The richly detailed facade is awash with ceramic colour and shapes. It marks the beginning of Gaudí's artistic career, and it is considered to be one of the first masterpieces of Modernism. It has quickly made its way on the list of must-sees in Barcelona. Thus, we invite you to discover the house and the original rooms.
Walk back to the bus and enjoy a drive to astonishing Park Guell, your next stop. Located right on the edge of Barcelona, Park Guell is a beautiful park full of bright colours, interesting architecture, lush greenery, and more.
The park is named after Eusebi Güell, a rich entrepreneur, who commissioned Gaudi to build a luxury residential complex. When the project was abandoned, Gaudí designed a park. Created between 1900 and 1914, Park Guell has been open to the public since 1923.
In 1984, it was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The park was made following the architectural style that made Gaudi famous: Catalan Modernism. Spread across 19 hectares, you will find rounded forms, undulating lines, and structures covered in rainbow-coloured mosaic and iron gates come together to create a space that is magical in every sense of the word.
Gesamtpreis inkl. Steuern- und Gebühren : 75 €
You will depart for a visit to the picture-postcard village of Valldemossa and its Carthusian Monastery. Valldemossa is one of the most beautiful and typical villages on the Island, nestled in a valley of the northern mountain range.
Enjoy all the beauty that Mallorca has to offer, with picturesque mountains and coastline your constant companion. You will drive along the rugged northern coast, seeing landscapes of pine forest and groves of almond and olive trees. A photo stop will be made at "Son Marroig", which offers beautiful views of Mallorca's northern coastline.
Visit the Carthusian Monastery, including the small neo-classical church which is known for its lovely frescoes painted by Goya's brother-in-law, intricately carver choir stall, and rich tapestries, as well as an 18th century pharmacy set up almost exactly as it would have been by the monks in 1723.
The Cartuja is known to have housed the famous musician and composer Frederic Chopin, as week as the writer George Sand, in winter of 1838, where they added their own touches to the romanticism of Majorcan history (on Sundays, only exterior visits will be allowed).
Before returning to the ship, enjoy some free time in the beautiful village of Valldemossa to browse the souvenir shops.

Continue the panoramic tour with a stop at the Cathedral for a picture and an opportunity to learn a bit of Majorcan history. La Seu, a 14th century gothic cathedral, stands in the heart of the city of Palma as the most emblematic building in Mallorca's capital. You will start your exploration with the marine caves which are home to numerous birds including falcons, shearwaters and swifts. Exiting the harbour via the inlet, you will discover the ramparts which encircle the old city.

Built between 1883 and 1885 as a summer house for the Vicens family, here he showcased his unparalleled talent.

In 1984, it was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The park was made following the architectural style that made Gaudi famous: Catalan Modernism.
